The role and function of LCD controller
LCD controller (liquid crystal display controller) is a dedicated integrated circuit (IC) connected to the host CPU and controlling the
LCD panel. It is also known as LCDC (LCD controller), display controller, or liquid crystal controller. In the following text, we will refer to it as LCDC.
LCDC receives display image data from the host CPU and outputs data and synchronization signals at timing that matches the
specifications of the LCD panel. Some LCDCs have built-in memory and image processing capabilities, allowing them to expand,
shrink, rotate, or overlay multiple images to fit the screen size.
